Christmas Penguin + One More!

Hello everybody! I'm here again with another Flip-It card, this time with an adorable Penguin from Gina K Designs. I just love him!

The snowball and trim on the hat have Stardust Stickles on them. The rest is colored with Copic markers. The sentiment and green tree are from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life.

This last card is another Flip-It using a Partridge in a Pear Tree image from Lawn Fawn and the sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping. I used a little Christmas Red Stickles on the candy cane below the sentiment.

I felt this might make a good masculine Christmas card. The base card base is Kraft, and I used patterned paper from Stamps of Life. That paper came in a paper pack that I used for most of the previously shown Flip-It Christmas cards. I've been on a roll, but now I've got to stop.

Thank you for stopping by again today. I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again soon!

Have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas Flip-Its

Hello again! It's been a long while since I posted. I've been busy duplicating the Christmas cards I've already shown you. Now I've started creating Flip-Its for Christmas cards. They are much easier to create and don't take as much time as my previous cards.

This first card shows you the stamp set called Penguins4Christmas from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life. It's an older set, but one I've held on to for years because I just love the penquins.

I kept this very simple and just used black, red and white. Although those are not usually perceived to be Christmas colors, I felt they worked for this particular card. The only Copic color I used was R29 for the ribbon on the package and the bow below the sentiment.

Because this will be mailed and sent via USPS, I did not add any ribbon so there wouldn't be a knot that could jam their machines. These cards are going out late enough, and I don't want anything to hold them up in delivery.

Here's a different card using the same patterned paper that's not a Flip-It. I glued a piece of ribbon across the front of this but did not add a bow. The penguin on top is die cut with an added bow. The sentiment is white heat embossed.

Finally, here's another simple Christmas Flip-It card I created.

Sorry if the second image of this set is a little fuzzy. I can't tell if it's the camera or my eyes, but I think when I enlarged the photo, it got fuzzy. You get the idea, though.

Thank you for stopping by today! I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again soon!

P.S.  There will be another Christmas Flip-It card to show you that has a different penguin on it. Stay tuned!

OCC Holiday Style Day 11. Finally!

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been in Boston visiting my brother. I am posting this picture so you can see us after the food had been prepared. (Somebody -- me -- forgot to move the vegetable broth before snapping the picture...) He's not a professional chef, but the white jacket was a gift to him since he cooks like a gourmet chef. That turkey was so moist and good, along with everything else we had. I gained a few pounds on that trip! See my chubby cheeks? I may have snitched a piece of turkey...
Hope you'all had a good Thanksgiving, too! Now it's time to move forward with more Christmas cards.

Thought I should post this one before it gets any later. The card was my homework for the last day of Online Card Classes Holiday Style lessons. I finished it right before I left for Boston but didn't have time to post it before today.

I followed a video lesson by Kelly Latevola using a Tim Holtz Scribbly Christmas stamp set for a "Classic and Elegant" styled card.

I stamped a variety of the trees using different shades of Tim Holtz Distress Inks and heat embossed some on top in gold and silver. Over that, I placed a piece of vellum that had the sentiment die cut and then heat embossed in gold. Finally, I added a few tiny green gems from Hero Arts for the finishing touch.

This wasn't a difficult card to make. Probably the toughest part was getting very tiny dots of liquid glue behind the sentiment for the vellum to stick.

I appreciate you stopping by today. Your comments and visits mean the world to me! Hope to see you again real soon ~
